Mother’s Day is this weekend. Therefore, I will be focusing a few posts on technology gifts, gadgets and apps for moms.
Today I was featured on Great Day Houston sharing some of my favorite apps for moms. They are listed below and I included the 5 minute segment from the show.
For those that are expecting, this app has it all. Answers and advice on what is normal, tests, checkups, nutrition and exercise.
Common Sense Media
Help and recommendations for parents on all things media. If you want to know if any media related item is appropriate for your child, check on Common Sense Media’s app. They review movies, dvd’s, video games, apps, websites, tv shows and more.
Free app but requires a care.com premium membership.
Based on their website and provides help with care, including finding a babysitter, nanny, tutor, senior care, housekeeper, pet sitter, etc. They run background checks and have reviews posted from prior users.
Free app, but requires subscription to Covenant Eyes.
My number one tip for parents is to have a web monitoring and filtering program. Our family uses Covenant Eyes on our home computer, laptops, iphones and ipads. An app is available to use as a search engine. I disable safari on my kid’s digital devices and they use Covenant Eyes search engine. Covenant Eyes is a subscription and has a small monthly fee depending on number of users.
*CyberSafeFamily is affiliated with and recommends Covenant Eyes, use code cybersafe when signing up and receive 30 days FREE.
Cozi Family Organizer
A great family organizer. 2012 Appy Award Winner for Best Family/Parenting app! Easily share family schedules on calendar, shopping lists, to do lists and a family journal.
Drawing game to play with family or friends. Fun interactive way to communicate with your kids over apps. Receive a three words, choose one, draw and see if your partner can guess it. Work together to increase your points.
Great educational app for kids (and some adults) 2 to 6. Teaches and reinforces colors, shapes and more.

Currently does not support manufacturers coupons (redeemed at grocery stores) but should be available on next update.
